This hack replaces the Finder's copy mechanism with an AppleEvent to complete the copy. To use, install the extension and then launch the app (or put it in your startup items folder).
When you do a copy or duplicate, an AppleEvent will be sent to the SloppyCopy application which will do the copy in the background. This allows you to launch applications, move windows, and otherwise use the Finder while copies are taking place. Reads and writes are performed asynchronously to increase idle time when copying to or from AppleShare servers.
This hack isn't ready for everyday use as of yet. It currently breaks copying fonts and sounds out of or into the System file, and doesn't retain file or scroll positions of windows or documents. In addition, the stop button and the progress dialog don't yet work. If you have any questions, hold off on them until the next version is released... :-)
